Digital Applications is the integration of digital media including combinations of electronic text, graphics, moving images and sound into a structured digital computerised environment that allows people to interact with the data for appropriate purposes. The main focus is on website construction and the digital assets that are components of websites. This is a practical course where students will become expert in the use of software for website authoring, image handling, sound editing and animated graphics production.

This course is a Level 2 Technical Award in Interactive Media from the NCFE exam board.

It is an exact equivalent in size and complexity to a GCSE course.

4. Present and promote an interactive media product

Final grades are reported as Distinction* (GCSE equivalent 8.5), Distinction (7), Merit (5.5) or Pass (4).

Digital skills are an important part of virtually all jobs these days and this qualification will be an asset to any student, no matter what career they choose to follow.

In addition, this course provides a solid foundation for students who wish to further their studies in ICT-based courses at Level 3 in the Sixth Form.
